Tribex 500: Tribulus Terrestris & Avena Sativa

Biotest's Tribex 500 has proven quite effective boosting testosterone levels, and helping athletes gain more lean muscle mass and lower body fat content. Two of the main ingredients in Tribex 500 is Tribulus Terrestris and Avena Sativa. Tribulus Terrestris is a herb, and Avena Sativa is actually an oat. Sounds weird? What the heck do a herb and an oat have to do with bodybuilding and boosting testosterone? Let's take a look at both.

Tribulus Terrestris in Tribex 500

Tribulus works by increasing luteninizing hormone (LH) in your body, which stimulates testosterone production. A major benefit of Tribulus Terrestris is that it's a herb and not a hormone, and there are very few, if any side effects associated with it.

Avena Sativa in Tribex 500

As unusual as it may sound, Avena Sativa is actually an oat. This 'oat' has many benefits, and has been used for a long time. Here are some uses: relaxation, anti-depressant, herpes, arthritis, indigestion, wrinkles, hemorrhoids, lower cholesterol and others. What we're really interested in here is how Avena Sativa works to boost our testosterone levels, and help you gain more muscles.

It's not until recent years that Avena Sativa has been found to help boost testosterone and also act as an aphrodisiac. Research have found Avena Sativa works by freeing up testosterone that's stuck to other compounds in your body. With age, more testosterone gets bound, and bound testosterone isn't as effective as free testosterone. So, instead of increasing the amount of testosterone, it makes your available amount of testosterone 'more efficient' so-to-speak.

Tribulus and Avena Combo in Tribex 500

Tribulus and Avena are the 2 main ingredients in Tribex 500, which contains 250mg of Tribulus and 150mg of Avena. So what does it matter that Tribex 500 combines these two ingredients? Let's put it this way, did you know that Tribulus Terrestris and Avena Sativa are the only 2 known compounds that can naturally stimulate testosterone levels?

Exactly how these two compounds boost testosterone is still unknown, and under research. One thing is for sure though is that Tribulus works to stimulate higher testosterone production, while Avena Sativa works to free up bounded testosterone, making it more efficient. When you have these 2 compounds working together, they work synergistically to give your testosterone levels a big boost - greater than the results each compound can produce individually. (Note: Tribulus is also shown to help free up bounded testosterone, however, to a limited extent compared to Avena.)

What To Expect From Biotest Tribulus Tribex 500

The million dollar question is: what can you get out of Tribex 500? Depending on factors such as your diet, supplementation, workout regime, on average you can expect modest (5lbs) to exceptional (over 10lbs) gains within 4 to 8 weeks.

In a study involving 2 football plays and 3 bodybuilders, 1 capsule of Tribex was administered for 22lbs of body weight over a 6 week period. At the end of 6 weeks, on average, lean body mass increased by 5lbs, body fat dropped by 1%, and 1 max rep bench press increased 18lbs. Now, considering that these were already well trained athletes, the results are very encouraging.

Biotest Tribex Side Effects

Because Tribulus and Avena are both natural compounds, there are no documented side effects. How bad do you think an oat could be? ;-) On the plus side, you get the boost in testosterone levels, which can help you gain lean mass and strength. However, if you have allergy to oats, you might want to reconsider Tribex 500.

At retail, a bottle of Tribex 500 will cost you around $40.

IronMagazine highly recommends IronMagLab's Anabolic-Matrix Rx, it contains the highest quality Tribulus with over 20% Protodioscin the effective part of the herb that raises LH levels, thus increasing natural testosterone production!
