Anabolic Steroids and Strength Training
Anabolic Steroids Written by: WarriorFX

Current estimates suggest four million American men are taking doctor-prescribed testosterone replacement therapy and around three million people in the United States use anabolic-androgenic steroids for their effects on body composition. Use has dramatically increased since the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse indicated that a little more than one million people were using AAS in 1991.

10 Ways to Conquer Cravings and Control Your Appetite
Diet & Nutrition Written by: Tom_Venuto

You often hear the well-intentioned advice, "eat only when you're hungry." But if you eat every time you feel the slightest twinge of hunger, regardless of whether your calorie needs for the day have already been met or not, you will constantly be taking one step forward and one step back. A little bit of hunger on a fat loss program is normal and sometimes simply needs to be tolerated.

Study Shows Best Strength Training Program
Weight Training Written by: Will_Brink

Good SnC coaches - of which there are many - have known for decades that linear non-periodized strength training programs are a terrible way to make progress in strength and or muscle mass over time, yet, that's exactly how the majority of people set up their programs.

Loading Patterns for Building Muscle Mass
Weight Training Written by: WarriorFX

In general, overloading is the practice of applying a load greater than what a power-producing source is capable of withstanding. In machinery, this excessive burden can result in equipment failure. In the human body, this application results in adaptation to subsequently withstand even greater demands.

What You Need To Know About Caffeine
Supplements Written by: Will_Brink

Someone once said "there's no sunshine without coffee." I tend to agree. However, there's a great deal more to understand regarding the benefits of caffeine - the central nervous system stimulant most people associate with coffee - and its effects on mental acuity, performance, etc. In this article I'm going to cover what people really need to know about this topic, and suggest a way to get the most bang for your money when it comes to this highly popular beverage and supplement.

Diet & Nutrition Written by: Tom_Venuto

Can you lose a pound of fat per day? No, that's not a typo, I said lose a pound of fat per DAY not per WEEK. Yeah, I know what you're thinking (especially if you're a regular Burn the Fat Blog or Tom Venuto reader), but don't get yer britches in a bunch just yet, just read the darn post first, THEN let loose with your comments...

Resistance Training for a Bigger, Stronger Body
Weight Training Written by: WarriorFX

A creative mind is a horrible thing to waste, so long as good judgment supersedes inventive initiatives. Certain lifestyle choices can enhance intellectual creativity in people - by altering environmental perceptions and allowing for more open-minded attitudes. When reaching for the mountainous peak of innovative design, it's important to know when you just fell off the summit. This concept is important in bodybuilding.

My Complete Opinion On Fast Days & Fat Loss
Diet & Nutrition Written by: Vince_DelMonte

Just like any other training or diet tool, fast days are simply another tool in your tool box for building your house. Are fast days necessary to lose fat and "shape" your home? It depends. Note: My definition of a fast day is when you do not consume food for a 24 hour period. You only consume water. Fast days can be a tremendous addition to a fat loss program for certain individuals and completely unnecessary for others.

Why Intuitive Eating Fails and How to Make it Work
Written by: Tom_Venuto

Some (mostly new) Burn the fat readers seem to have not only fallen under the impression that my philosophy of fat loss is ONLY about calories, calories, calories, but also that I am on some kind of mission to attack those who promote intuitive eating or non-calorie counting methods.
