NPC USA Bodybuilding & Figure Championships (IFBB Pro Qualifier)
July 25-26, 2008 Las Vegas, Nevada
The 2008 2008 NPC USA Bodybuilding and Figure Championships will be held on July 25-26, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be held at the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the Campus of UNLV, at 4505 Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154. This is the tentative list, as there is always more competitors by contest date, as well as some weight changes perhaps.
Christmas came early for bodybuilding renegade, Lee Priest, when he received word that the IFBB had secretly met and voted 11-5 in favor of reinstatement. Why the IFBB changed their mind and voted to let Lee back in earlier than the original promised Olympia Weekend date is impossible to tell for sure.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two former bodybuilding stars have entered guilty pleas in connection with the death of their personal assistant, just days before their high-profile murder trial had been set to begin.
Craig Titus, 43, pleaded guilty late Friday to second-degree murder, kidnapping and arson in the December 2005 slaying of 28-year-old Melissa James.
The woman’s body was found in the trunk of a burned-out luxury sedan in the desert outside Las Vegas.
It was a very hot day here in sunny Los Angeles, and thousands of people flocked to the beach for some cooler air and fun in the sun. The workout area at Muscle Beach Venice had closed about two weeks ago, as Bodybuilding.com and Headblade put up over $50,000 to completely bring new Star Trac equipment and flooring to the famous area. And on Saturday, May 17th, at 2pm, the red ribbon was cut, and reopened.
Thanks to Joe Wheatley for getting this done, along of course, with the city of Los Angeles, and the sponsors who helped keep Muscle Beach brand new. Also on this day, Jack LaLanne and Franco Columbu’s plaques were put on the Bodybuilding Hall of Fame, which is right on the boardwalk on Muscle Beach.
Here are the results from the 2008 New York Pro Bodybuilding contest. There were three contests held, Women’s Bodybuilding, Men’s Bodybuilding, and the 202 Pounds and Under Men’s Bodybuilding contest.

HGH bill altered in order to help children

A Senate bill originally designed to combat use of human growth hormone by athletes and celebrities has been altered in recent weeks to protect another group: children who use HGH to counter growth deficiencies.
Senators Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have dropped language in the bill that would have put HGH on the same legal plane as anabolic steroids, a move that would have severely limited access to the synthetic hormone. [ Read More… ]
